10 Ways To Incorporate Self-Care Into A Busy Schedule

Posted by on

Sis, we know your life is full of demands, but we believe self-care is one thing you cannot afford to sacrifice - because it is essential to your overall health. Sometimes we get caught up in our day-to-day routines and become extremely busy, but we encourage you to make space to prioritize YOU, even if you have to get creative. Here are ten small ways to fit self-care into your busy schedule.

1. Set Intention For Each Day With Self-Kindness

As you are planning out your tasks for the day, please talk to yourself like you are talking to someone you love. We are often our own worst critics, so remind yourself to be less hard on you. Repeat kind words as you meditate, or write them down somewhere where you can see them throughout the day.

2. Take A Bath

At the end of your day, relax with a bath. Set a soothing atmosphere with your favorite things, such as an essential oil diffuser, candle, bath bomb, glass of wine, relaxing music, or a good book. If baths aren't your jam, try a shower with a shower bomb infused with essential oils.

3. Meditate

Take some time in the morning or before bed to meditate, even if it is just for 5 -10 minutes. It will help you clear your mind and focus on setting your intention for the day.

4. Stretch At Your Desk

If you're unable to step away from work, take a few stretches at your desk. Drop your shoulders away from your ears and just breathe.

5. Take A Nap

You could feel too busy to utilize this one, but if you can take a break, squeeze in a power nap to recharge your body and mind.

6. Order Delivery

Ordering delivery seems to be a much more regular thing to do these days. Order from your favorite place and enjoy your meal wherever you are, without the hassle of cooking or clean up.

7. Hug Yourself

Take some time to show yourself some love. It only takes a second.

8. Give Yourself A Hand Or Foot Massage

A soothing manicure always helps to make you feel appreciated. Try a non-toxic nail polish from Rooted Woman to feel even better about taking care of your nails.

9. Go For A Walk

It can even be just to the stop sign up the street, but take a moment to disconnect, get some fresh air, and move your body.

10. Notice Your Thoughts

Take notice of your thoughts because they play a huge part in how you feel. If they are negative, try listing out some things you are grateful for to help switch your mindset.

All in all, a little goes a long way. It's okay to start small. With time, you'll come to love and crave just how much self-care feeds your soul.
